High Box Jump

Exercise / Glutes, Hip Flexors, Quadriceps

How to perform the exercise

  • Step 1: Place secure box/platform about 6-inches in front of your feet. Height of box should be high enough so that you have to exert all your energy to jump up on it.
  • Step 2: Stand with knees slightly bent, feet shoulder-width apart, chest out and back slightly bent over with a natural arch.
  • Step 3: Squat down and swing arms upward as you jump onto the box. Land softly on the box with knees bent. Step down and repeat again.

Exercise Tips

Jump onto the box and swing your arms forward. Use the momentum in your legs to extend your hips, knees, and ankles and launch yourself into the air. Swing your arms forward as you jump, which gives you some extra momentum. Hold your arms out to the sides so your hands don’t hit the box.
