Eric Stigen joins the Fitness Zone as an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist. Eric has a strong background in public service as he served our country in the US Army and served his community as a Certified Police Officer in Montana.
In addition to his NASM certifications, Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Emergency Management which he earned from Colorado Technical University in 2019.
Eric joined the Army as Airborne Infantry and was stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. He then went on to successfully complete the three-week Special Forces Assessment and Selection. During an airborne jump, Eric was severely injured which led him to become medically retired from the US Armed Forces.
After his retirement and recovery from his injuries, Eric used his education in Criminal Justice to pursue a career in law enforcement and became Certified as a Police Officer in the state of Montana. During this period, he obtained several law enforcement certifications such as Law Enforcement Tactical Concepts, Threat Pattern Recognition, and SWAT. His life on the Montana police force led him to gain extensive experience dealing with situations which require both physical and mental strength to keep the public safe.
During his last year on the Montana police force, Eric and his family decided that it was time to look for a warmer climate to start a new more peaceful life. Eric looked back at his time at Fort Bragg, where he made good memories and a strong connection with the Carolinas. In September of 2022, Eric and his family decided to make that change, and left Montana to enjoy a new life at the Beach.
Throughout his life Eric has always had a passion for weight and strength training and physical fitness which has ultimately led him to obtain his personal training certifications in the field of physical fitness. Eric is looking to offer a unique training environment where he can apply his military and police background combined with his years of physical fitness experience and share his knowledge with the community in his new home in the Carolinas.
